Done Moping...

I've lived in 3 places for an appreciable amount of time... Nebraska, Texas and now Virginia.  For those who have also lived in different locations, have you lived somewhere that just "felt right"?  Felt like "home"?  Felt like you "belonged"?  That is Virginia for us.

We have lived here almost 4 months.  Yes that is brief but we both feel like we belong here.  We love the city (DC), we love the scenery, we love the weather and we love the people!  (Contrary to popular belief about the East Coast being rude, everyone we've met has been beyond wonderful!  We would say better than Houston!)

We've also accepted the fact that relocation is a part of my career and we will relocate as my employers needs us to relocate.  But... we were really looking forward to spending 4-ish years here.

Two weeks ago, my employer announced plans to relocated the VA office (all 2,000 HQ employees) to Houston in 2014.  My response was... NOOOOOOOOO, NOT YET!!!!!

In response...

we've sulked...

we've moped...

we've whined...

we've complained...

But in the end, we knew we'd leave someday so we shouldn't be too disappointed.

We've got ~2 years left... time to make the most of it!!!!
