Trip to Nebraska

This month we flew for the first time as a family of four to Nebraska!  The primary reason was for my sister, Ali's, wedding but we managed to stay busy visiting family and friends every day we were there.

Ali and Jason's wedding was was outdoor at a beautiful public garden area in Lincoln, called the Sunken Gardens.  The pictures I have really do not show the most beautiful part of the gardens with the beautiful flowers and ponds.  Everything was in full bloom and they had a perfect day!

I only have a couple iphone pictures of the wedding, unfortunately, so you will have to take my word that it was gorgeous.

Since the wedding was on Friday, we were able to attend the Nebraska game on Saturday against UCLA!  The first half of the game was great... the second half was no-so-much.  We enjoyed the ~5 hours without kids and had some time after the game to do some shopping and grab a coffee.

Sunday was Hayden's baptism at my childhood church.  As Christians we do believe that baptism should occur after acceptance of Christ, but infant baptism is important to us as well since our families are a mix of backgrounds (Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Christian).  It was a way we could bring the families together to celebrate Hayden.

My sister, Christine, and brother-in-law, Kevin, are Hayden's Godparents.  We are so thankful to have them part of her/our lives!

We were also lucky to visit with all our living Grandparents (Hayden and Isaac's Great-Grandparents).

Isaac had a special treat from Grandpa (my Dad).  My Dad's cousin found a power-wheels Harley Davidson that was not working.  My Dad (aka Mr Fixit) got it working again with a new battery.  Isaac rode the motorcycle everyday and was surprisingly proficient at driving!  Look out when he turns 16!

Finally, Isaac had his first trip to NU campus and we got his picture in front of Memorial Stadium.  He was not happy after spilling water all over his shirt.  ;)

It was fun, Nebraska!  Hope to do it again soon!
