Today we signed a contract with a contractor to completely gut and remodel our disgusting, dysfunction master bath! Yay!
Nothing will look the same when it's done (thankfully). The scope includes:
- Tearing down all the walls and expanding the bathroom ~8 feet
- Tearing out the existing tub/shower and building a single walk-in shower in a different location (the window will now be in the shower so the window will be replaced with a single pane of privacy glass)
- Installing a ~6' 2-sink vanity in a different location
- Adding linen closet where the existing tub was located
- Creating larger walk-in closet (like, 3x's as big!)
We are so excited about having this done. When we bought the house we knew we needed to do something with the master bath and I'm so excited to have it done.
The current closet is walk-in, but is so small and cramped it really has no more space than a single bi-fold door closet. Because of this, we have the rest of our clothes stored in various closets around the house and I will be so thankful to have them back in our room.
Here are a few pictures of our current bathroom. It's okay, you can laugh. ;)
Vanity with beige/pink top. The mirror has fallen and unpainted wall (w/ a few holes) is exposed. The medicine cabinet is mint green and the doors on the vanity keep falling off. Lovely.
Toilet/shower area. Check out the wall paper and tile. The vent fan doesn't work so it's gets super steamy when you shower and it never really airs-out so the towels are constantly damp. Ew!
Better view of the "custom" tile. Wasn't this the trend in the 80's?
Doesn't the faucet make you want to hop right in?
Not-so-spacious closet. Oooooh, can't wait to actually fit all my clothes in the master bedroom!
