Making Each Day Intentional

Since becoming a working Mom about a year ago, I found that it's easy to get stuck in "the grind".  Work, Eat, Sleep... repeat.  Without having intentionality to spend quality time in marriage and as a family, the priorities of life can drift to things they shouldn't.

So, about 6 months ago we decided create some intentionality to our weeks.  Sort of a way to make us look forward to each day (even Mondays!).  Here is what we do throughout the week to create ways to make us look forward to each day and hopefully start some fun traditions in our marriage and family.

Monday - Date Night!
I'm sure Bryce will be embarrassed that I'm saying this, but after we put Isaac to bed we open a bottle of wine and enjoy the guilty pleasures of watching The Bachelor!  Ha!  Kind of like watching a train wreck... but we love it.  It's "our time" and has become something we look forward to each week.  If The Bachelor isn't on, we usually watch a movie.

Tuesday - Pizza Night!
Pizza night used to be Thursday, but in VA we have a Whole Foods 1 mile from the house and Tuesday is BOGO pizzas.  They are super yummy!  I always look forward to not having to cook and enjoying Pizza night.

Wednesday - Study Night
In TX, we had Small Group on Wednesday evenings.  In VA, since we don't have a small group yet, we use this night to continue focus on our marriage and relationship with the Lord.  We have been going through "Five Love Languages" and think it's excellent.

Thursday - Taco Night
Taco night used be Tuesday, but with the comment about Whole Foods pizza above, has now moved to Thursday.  We all love tacos and sometimes make margaritas.

Friday - Who doesn't love Fridays??
Anything goes on Fridays!  Usually some beer/wine, the back patio, music and just hanging out!

While it isn't always perfect, we try very hard to make each day special and cultivate a stronger marriage and family.  I hope we can inspire another family to be more intentional with their time and with each other.  Have a great weekend!
